When full blown EMF was present in one cardiac ventricle, the contralateral ventricle with either focal lesions or no visible lesions, had interstitial fibrosis associated with increase in interstitial cellularity. It is suggested that EMF may be a reactive and progressive interstitial fibrosis, a result of cardiac fibroblast growth, with or without proliferation and enhanced collagen synthesis.Science & Technology - Other TopicsENDOMYOCARDIAL FIBROSIS IS POSSIBLY AN INTERSTITIAL HEART-DISEASE
