To reveal the influence of the nature of polyols on the soft segment morphology, polyurethanes based on three polyols (polypropylene glycol 2000, polyethylene glycol 2000 and polytetramethylene glycol 2000), Methylene bis(p-cyclohexyl diisocyanate) and 1,4-butanediol were synthesized. These materials were characterized using wide angle X-ray diffraction and differential scanning calorimetry. Polytetramethylene glycol based polyurethane showed soft segment crystallinity while the other two were amorphous. This feature has been connected with the specific nature of the polyols.
